Seeking
a New Position
As House Manager / Handyman / Warden / Caretaker or any related
position and preferably live in.
I am looking for long term position ideally to see me into
and maybe beyond retirement. I am single and have no dependants.
I have a full clean UK driving licence with 38 years driving
experience and do have my own vehicle, therefore location is
not an issue.
What I have to offer
I am fit, non smoker and enjoy life, have a good sense of humour,
friendly attitude and am able to work on own or with others
and use own initiative if and when required.
I am very caring, discrete, flexible, dependable, reliable,
loyal and trustworthy; as my references will verify, I also
have a fully enchanced CRB certificate.
As live in employee I am used to respecting and looking after
employers properties and being left to look after things whilst
owners away.
I am told that I am very handy to have around , I have had a
varied working life and experience in light electrical/mechanical
repairs, plumbing, driving, car valeting, pool and pond maintenance,
garden maintenance, tennis court maintenance, care and welfare
of animals, domestic appliance repairs, mowing, tractor driving,
machinery maintenance, working in customers homes, interior
and exterior decorating and do enjoy new challenges. I have
also had my own homes and family, in my earlier years I maintained
my own vehicles and home.
I have 8 years experience as live in employee.
I have worked for professional business men and families with
my wife as live in couple for 6 years but now we have seperate
lives. The last two years I have been House Manager for a large
residential activity centre in Kent where I am still currently
living and employed by a large catering company but the contract
is ending.
Current Employment
House Manager, employed to look after and ensure good running
of a large listed house and 8 acres of grounds that is used
as an activity centre. This has included ensuring house open
and running constantly for visiting guests. Managing housekeeping
staff, organising, researching and overseeing contractors. Meeting
and greeting guests, guest check in & out. Fire Marshall
duties, observing health and safety rules. On the spot repairs,
maintenance of house, grounds and swimming pool. Ensuring guests
were comfortable and enjoyed there stay whilst site rules obeyed,
with guest and property safety and security.
My previous experience of live in
Domestic
Before the above I worked for previous 6 years as live in couple,
myself as Handyman and my wife was Housekeeper.
For 3 years we had sole charge, running and looking after house
and estate for a single businessman who spent a lot of time
away from home.
This included security, shopping, paying bills, cooking, cleaning,
laundry, garden maintenance, household and machinery repairs,
decorating, occasional chauffeuring, car cleaning, party organizing,
pool maintenance and managing tradesman..... Sadly this position
ended when our employer retired and moved into smaller premises.
The next 3 years until the end of February 2010 were in a another
position of Handyman and Housekeeper. This was looking after
for a large, listed 8 bedroom house and estate in Hertfordshire
for a professional businessman and his family. My duties were
looking after dogs and security of house and grounds whilst
owners away. Assisting head gardener in looking after large
formal gardens and grass cutting with tractor. Groundworks which
included helping build large pond. Assisting with house restoration.
Repairs from rotten window frames to pool vacuum. Assisting
with PC problems. Driving employer and family when required.
Other work experience
I started my working life on a dairy farm, looking after cattle
and tractor driving. I then worked as field service engineer
repairing cash registers in shops, pubs, hotels, clubs &
restaurants. I have worked in a factory as machine setter and
again worked as field service engineer repairing domestic appliances
in customer's homes. In 1996 I became self employed and had
my own cycle shop, then went onto online sales. Then in 2003
I began the domestic handyman role.
Certificates Held
Health & Safety level 2. Fire Marshall. Enchanced CRB dated

Other Considerations
 |
|
I do have a miniature/medium sized
very friendly labaradoodle dog. He is non destructive and
well behaved. Because of our involvement in a live in and
residential activity centre with children he was chosen
specifically as is child friendly and non allergy. I also
have a non destructive elderly cat. I would ask that these
are taken into consideration. I am a responsible owner and
would like to be able to keep these pets in a new live in
position. |
